Guest Lecture on Growth through capital market and commodity market in India

Finance Club, Dr. Virendra Swarup College of Management Studies, in association with SEBI, Lucknow and MCX, UP organised a "conference on Mutual Funds". In this talk, Mr. Gyanendra Kumar, AGM, SEBI, Lucknow addressed the BBA and BCA students about the importance of Mutual Funds in the contemporary financial investments. He described in details how does Mutual Funds investment overcome the handicap of common and small retail investors in understanding the unpredictable stock market behaviour. Later, in this talk, Head, MCX-UP, Mr. Sunil Misra gave a detailed understanding of the multi commodity Market, and the functioning of MCX in the financial sector of India. He also advised the students to take active part in financial investments. He suggested that this attitude of investing would give rise not only to extra income and making them less dependent on searching for job, but also they themselves can become entrepreneur and offer jobs to many others. At the same time, it would also give a boost to Indian economy at large. He told that FOREX (Foreign Exchange) is the world's larget financial market. About the commodity market, he told that this market allows the hedging to the investors and other actors in sectors like bullion, agriculture , and energy among others. This way, it also gives stability to financial and commodity market in India. It helps in balancing inflationary pressure to great extent. The event was a great success where over hundred students participated zealously.
